ABOUT THE TRAINING

Many executives in small and medium-sized businesses have been facing challenges caused by pandemics, wars, numerous acquisitions, great resignation, quiet quitting, to name a few.

Some SMBs have grown rapidly while others have stagnated, and both can be quite stressful. Prices are getting lower, services are getting more complex, technology is changing daily, and machines are getting smarter. It’s become difficult to find and retain talent.

How can you successfully overcome all these challenges and, as an executive, ensure the continued existence of your company? There’s no one-size-fits-all solution, but one of the solutions is definitely to strengthen your leadership skills, resilience, empathy, decision-making and other soft skills.

To help you successfully lead your business and protect it from turbulence, we’ve developed a practical training with the most useful approaches, techniques and best practices for strengthening your managerial soft skills. These are immediately applicable in your environment and the results are visible almost immediately.

WHO THIS TRAINING IS FOR

This training is basically useful for all executives in SMBs. But it’s also ideal for aspiring leaders and middle managers.

MODULES

The training consists of six modules, delivered in three sessions.
Each session will take place once a week, and lasts 7:30 hours including two short breaks and a lunch break in between:

In each module, you will receive a short theoretical framework and practical exercises. You will also be assigned practical exercises to work on between parts after each part.

You will receive a certificate of participation upon completion of all six modules.

The content of each module

    I. YOUR COMPANY’S PRESENT AND FUTURE

Where are you now as an executive and where do you want to go? Many executives are constantly facing major or minor challenges with customers, the team, outside influences. They don’t have time to regularly review their company’s vision and strategic direction.

That’s why it’s important to take a short break, analyze the state of affairs from a distance, to clearly see where you’re going and what could jeopardize you along the way.

In this module, you will learn how to:

  • ▪ Use the current company evaluation for your future performance
  • ▪ Use your leadership personality for the success of your company
  • ▪ Be clear about your ambitions, mission and vision
  • ▪ Anticipate risks and how to mitigate them
  • ▪ Be flexible to new challenges

II. STRATEGIC THINKING AND ETHICAL DECISION-MAKING

Culture eats strategy for breakfast. This saying has become popular, but many people don’t know what it means in practice. Moreover, many executives fall into the trap of myopic approaches because global situations require frequent “fire alarms.” This pours fuel on the fire of realistic goal setting and planning.

For this reason, it’s necessary to continuously develop strategic thinking and to make decisions also on ethical grounds.

In this module, you will learn how to:

  • ▪ Effectively incorporate innovative approaches to corporate culture
  • ▪ Improve your strategic thinking
  • ▪ Integrate managerial ethics into your daily operations
  • ▪ Set business goals with high acceptance from your employees
  • ▪ Avoid bad decisions

III. RESISTING TURBULENCES IN THE GLOBAL BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT

Crises have always existed and will continue to exist – it’s inevitable. The only thing you can do is prepare for them effectively. New competitors, pandemics and wars will also occur. Legislation will change, new governments will impose new taxes. As executives, you need to be aware of these external events that can affect your business.

You must develop methods to deal with the volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA) of the business world.

In this module, you will learn how to:

  • ▪ Manage crises and unexpected events
  • ▪ Make your company adaptable and responsive to global turbulence
  • ▪ Respond to VUCA
  • ▪ Remain resilient
  • ▪ Use Porter’s five forces for your business

IV. HARNESSING THE POWER OF CHANGE AND INNOVATION

The world is changing, technology is changing, people are changing every day. Introducing changes to processes or workflows in companies is often necessary, but it’s anything but easy. People react differently to change and innovation.

Creativity is essential if we’re to survive and thrive. So is quality. It’s absolutely necessary to constantly look for motivation and inspiration.

In this module, you will learn how to:

  • ▪ Recognize and manage troublesome responses to change
  • ▪ Communicate change effectively
  • ▪ Introduce a culture of continuous creativity and innovation
  • ▪ Improve the quality of processes, products and services
  • ▪ Shape the future of your business

    V. MANAGING AND CHERISHING THE HUMAN GOLD OF YOUR COMPANY

People are the cornerstone of any business. No state-of-the-art technology or perfect workflow can function without people who know how to use it skillfully and intelligently.

Executives have to work hard to retain talent to keep employees motivated, productive and happy on the job. Managing people is one of the most difficult tasks of a manager, but absolutely rewarding.

In this module, you will learn how to:

  • ▪ Nurture your employees
  • ▪ Implement best practices for human resource management in an SMB
  • ▪ Keep your employees motivated and retain talent
  • ▪ Apply innovative approaches to managing teams
  • ▪ Avoid burn-out, bore-out and loneliness among your employees
  • ▪ Achieve work-life balance
  • ▪ Handle misbehavior in your company

VI. LEADERSHIP SKILLS FOR THE LONG-TERM SUCCESS

Are you a manager or a leader? We see this question in many posts on social media. But more importantly, how committed are you to finding meaning and coaching your employees? Also, communication issues pop up every day and cause many other problems for no reason, such as inappropriate behavior and conflict.

As an executive, you need to be a jack of all trades, but most of all, you need to have your heart set on your employees and your company. You’ve to understand, support, praise and criticize, and these are all demanding, delicate and often stressful activities.

In this module, you will learn how to:

  • ▪ Change into your role as a manager, leader, coach or sense maker
  • ▪ Apply important golden rules and principles of business communication
  • ▪ Give and receive feedback effectively
